Ride to L.A. Bicycle Film Festival & SART Opening

June 30th is the day for celebration, film, and fun...but mostly for bikes!

The Main Events:

The Plan:
You don't have to show up for the whole thing, but if you wanna catch up with us along the way, hook up with one of our contributors beforehand and get a cell number or something.
But, it would be rockersville if we had a full-on car-less crew to represent.
  • 7:45am
  • 10ish
    • Ride to the San Bernardino Metrolink Station (5 miles)
    • Catch the next train to Los Angeles Union Station
    • If you pack a lunch, now would be a good time to eat it
    • Arrive in L.A. hopefully by noon or early afternoon
  • Midday/Early afternoon
    • Eat Lunch
    • Get to Hollywood
      • or Ride to Hollywood (6.5 miles)
  • Films start at 1:30pm
    • Woo!
    • Bikes on film!
  • 11:30pm : Last Train out of Union Station
    • either Catch the last train out
      • Arrive Union Station by 11ish
      • Arrive in 'Berdoo around 1am
      • Ride home from the station (10 miles to Redlands)
    • or Spend the night in L.A.
      • Dream of bikes and shopping carts
There are no set routes as of yet. I am hoping that some of our contributors will have suggestions.

I'm stoked about this hella-bike day.

See you all at Stell.
PS: bring your camera and send me pictures to post afterward. :D

Sea Shepherd Artshow Pics

We had a cool time at the Sea Shepherd Art Show.
(see photos below)

We made our contributions to the cause, had some bocca burgers, ran into fellow artists, cyclists, nature-respecters, etc. Even ran into some old friends from high school (eek!). Oh yeah, and we saw some hella-cool artwork too. There's a list of the artists at the Sea Shepard Art Show site.

Jimmy Martinez showed up with his wife, Nikki, and little girl, Izzy, and though we left before they got there, the fixie crew that hangs with the F.U.N. art dudes showed up later.

The ride back was all cool breeze and moon slivers. When we got back into Redlands, The Trevor suggested a stop by a bar. So we didn't argue.

Here are some photos. Please excuse that some of them are bad camera-phone shots.

Derric let us stash the bikes in the super-secret hallway of secrecy.

"We could go to the SART grand opening on the 30th (Sat.), then take Metrolink and the Redline to Hollywood. Afterward, Redline and Metrolink back to 'Berdoo and bike home from there. Long day, but fun!
